Round 3 – NPOB

Last weeks match reports

PREMIER REPORT vs NPOB

Jade Morgan – Premier Manager

The Premiers trend of starting slow was again evident in the opening period of the match. The United side did look good however going to their strengths and hitting the edges in attack to create many outside breaks which was great to see.

NPOB did however break the Spotswood forward pack with good strong rolling mauls that setup their first couple of tries inside 15 minutes.

The Doggies had some great spells on attack, and showed some sound defence in the latter parts of the first half.

The second half started much the same with a few early tries to NPOB, but as the united side have shown all year so far is they have plenty in the tank to go the full eighty, turning the game around in the middle period with some good tries to Taini Taylor-Tupaea & Paul Perez.

Lock, Amaani Vercoe, after a strong performance grab some reward with a try of his own with 5 minutes to run on the clock. Unfortunately the game was called off a few minutes early due to a back injury to reserve halfback Willie Kwan. But happy to report it was nothing too serious.

Final Score: NPOB 40 – Spotswood United 12

MVP Points

1 – Pati Kwan
2 – Taini Taylor-Tupaea
3 – Tutz Taylor-Tupaea

COLTS REPORT vs NPOB

Brendan Hammersley – Colts Manager

Third game of the round saw the Colts team take on the top of the table NPOB. We knew it would be a battle and it surely was! The boys started off being a bit flat missing tackles and making small errors. NPOB were very dominant with the half time score being 40 – 5

The second half wasn’t much better, the end result being 85 – 5. No cheesecake this week giving Jayne a break.

MVP’s this week Daniel, Bailey and Juki

Once again massive thanks to the to all the amazing supporters that braved the weather to encourage the boys, not our week this week on and upwards.
