As you all probably know by now, the Taranaki Rugby Community has been presented with a unique situation in respect to Mitre 10 Cup matches at Yarrow Stadium this season.
All games will continue to be hosted at Yarrow Stadium but there will be no access to the Eastern and Western Stands meaning spectators will be viewing the matches from the Northern and Southern terraces only.
Spotswood United RFC has been talking with the Taranaki Rugby Union (TRFU) since the issues arose and as a Club have committed to assist the TRFU where we could.
That assistance has extended to an agreement being reached between the Club and the TRFU to enable the TRFU to hire our clubrooms for the use of providing pre-match corporate hospitality to its valued sponsors and supporters.
In addition to our clubrooms being used for hospitality, so too will the Star Memorial Gym.
What this means is that our clubrooms will be subject to private hireage before games and therefore will not be available to club members.
After the game however the clubrooms will be open to all members and affiliated members.
The Club apologises for the inconvenience to members but we hope that you all understand the decision we have made to assist the TRFU to be able to provide corporate hospitality to ensure that Taranaki rugby remains strong on and off the field.
We look forward to enjoying some shield fever with you all after the games.
