Last Weekends Wrap-up
The Colts boys had the weekend off last week after Coastal defaulted earlier in the year. Big thanks to the boys that helped out in other grades and came along to help celebrate our Old Timers day.
Division 2 had another hard day at the office, but played well in extended periods doing the hard yards but couldn’t match Southern who came away with the spoils 31 – 12.
The Premiers had tough ask taking on the frontrunners thus far in the competition. Ball security and line outs were an ongoing issue throughout the game. The match featured some excellent defence and attack in periods, with both teams scoring 2 tries. At the end of the day difference was the boot of Rick McKenna. Spotty had a late opportunity to snatch the win, but it wasn’t to be going down narrowly 23 -26.
Division 1, sporting the Mellowpuff pink tops, were always going to be in for a decent battle against top-of-the-table Coastal. Finding themselves 28 – 10 behind heading into the last quarter, they boys dug deep late in the game scoring three tries and two conversations, one from the sideline by Dylan hall, for a stunning 29 – 28 victory.
Our annual Mellowpuff Trust day is this coming weekend.
