Due to technical difficulties – (PEBAK 😉) these couple of reports a little late coming across the editors desk.
Mellowpuff and NPOBS match reports wrapped up in 1 !
With one of the greatest days of the rugby season it was mellowpuff day, where the club is always fizzing, and ready to roll for some epic games of rugby
For those that know the kaupapa know and our new members of the club, experienced one of those days where all the raw emotions are pulled to the surface and your heart is wore on your sleeve, in many Div 1 traditions we started our day with the most wonderful speeches from Terry where his words will even bring tears out of the most staunch of staunch 😉 jersey presentations to the boys acknowledging all our loved ones that we have lost along the way too
Game time! We weren’t expecting any less from Southern they came out full swing and hit hard, our boys stuck it out for 80mins Jhai got our first points on the board in the second half in 55th minute followed by Regan try in the 63rd minute of the gameand it doesn’t really matter what the score said at the end of it, was just the fact, these fronted up played their hearts out all in the name of Mellowpuff day
Our PODs for that day where
3 – Jhai
2 – Regan
1 – William
Well deserved boys!
New week followed, and we headed to NPOBS
All though it was another tough day in the office, boys playing in and out of positions missing a few key players but it’s ok emergencies happen, whanau things happen, mahi happens, injuries happen and other things happen, couple boys that played despite being injured but they got on and we just had to roll with it because that’s what you do isn’t it?!
It would of been frustrating on the field for the boys but at the end of the day the boys fronted up, they got their game faces on, they did their absolute best, they held their heads high, they kept going till the very bitter end even when we ended up with injuries left right and centre they kept going and because they kept going they got 17 points on the board Jhai in 48th minute, Legend planted another one in 64th min and Sam backed another one in the 71st min and Joshua converting the last set of points!! And that’s all we can ask of them despite getting hammered week in and week out they still did what was needed and they got on that field and played!
Our PODS
3 – Jhai
2 – Jacob W
1 – Jacob B
Well done boys and well deserved
As always big mihi going out to our coaching and management team for all you do for the boys, thank you to the club and supporters for always supporting us and thank you to all our injuried and sick players for your taukotu too
