Sensational …

Firstly, apologies for last week with no update email, things were a little hectic at the club trying to find trophy space in the cupboard to store all the silverware we have locked away already this year!

Two weeks ago we took on Inglewood and Toko. A superb day at home for the club picking up 4 from 4 – the entire club coming away with wins. We also secured the Stan Cloake Trophy from Inglewood with grabbing the majority of wins for the day.

Results:
Premiers vs Inglewood: WIN 30 – 27
Division 1 vs Inglewood: WIN 20 – 11
Division 2 vs Toko: WIN 38 – 10
Colts vs Inglewood: WIN 50 – 26

Last weekend all teams were at home again with another top effort against NPOB and Kaponga. With all opposition teams sitting very high on the results table it was always going to be a tough week against very good opposition. This all made for an exceptional weekend of rugby and some excellent results.

Unfortunately, our Colts couldn’t make it back-to-back wins against top-of-the-table NPOB, but certainly had a good crack at it.

Div 1 could have gone either way, but the boys played right to the final whistle to grab a deserved 2 point win.

The Division 2 squad continued to show they are a definite contender this year to upset and surprise a lot of teams, go well boys – tracking nicely.

The Premiers put on one of the most complete performances this year. The forwards were dominant all over the park destroying NPOB scrum at any chance backed it up with some aggressive in defense. At times the tight 5 could have been mistaken as extra loosies running amock in the backline. The backs looked dangerous from anywhere and will certainly be catching the eye of opposition defensive coaches. Some brilliant short side moves and excellent support had Moses Christie dot down AGAIN for a double as the Doggies put the biggest winning margin on NPOB in recent years. Go you good things!

Results:
Premiers vs NPOB: WIN 34 – 14
Division 1 vs NPOB: WIN 19 – 17
Division 2 vs Kaponga: WIN 38 – 12
Colts vs NPOB: LOSS 12 – 24

It’s hard to believe, but this weekend is the half-way mark in the season. The Prems, Div 1 and Div 2 away at Hicks Park, Hawera vs Southern and Div 2 down in Rahotu taking on Coastal.

If certain results come our way, there is a real chance that the Premier side can grab top spot after round one and grab themselves the McMasters Tropy.

Lastly, apologies for no game-day photos so far this year, it’s a work on and hope to have a solution next week at our next home game.

Game on!
