Season Opener

Taranaki CMK Club rugby round 1 is all go this weekend. The hard work has been done by the players and they are primed and ready to go.

Unfortunately our Colts side have pull out of the competition this season (See update below).

It's always a great local derby with Tukapa, and to have them first up, and throw in Dan O'Brien day, it's going to be a cracker first round.

But before that, this Friday evening there is a Supporters evening at Ate Fortyone Bar.

We welcome all loyal Tukapa, Spotswood United, Star & Spotswood Old Boys supporters to join together for a casual evening the night before Dan O’Brien day at Ate Forty One.

There will be complimentary Hot Dogs & Chicken Wings for you to enjoy over a few beverages.

Happy hour is 5-7pm, with Ate Fortyone’s lucky punter draw at 6pm.

We challenge all supporters to buy our opposition mates supporters across the road a beverage!

Don’t forget to wear your club colours!!

COLTS UPDATE

We have been trying hard to rally a colts squad for the 2023 season. but unfortunately we don’t have enough players to make this work.
So, regrettably we have made the tough decision to withdraw the colts team from the competition this season.

I know this news is not ideal but we now have certainty and can move forward.

We will be working hard to rebuild the colts team for 2024.
What this means is we will now merge the colts that are with us, with the Division 1 team. This will give us a good Division 1 player base and an exciting season to look forward to.

We have also talked with all coaches and managers of colts and Division 1 and I am pleased to let you all know that the following excellent people will now form the Division 1 management team:
Jarrod Cameron (JC) - Head Coach
Cole Lahmert - Assistant Coach
Dylan Treweek - Assistant Coach / Player
Brendan Hamersley - Manager
John Bennetts (JB) - Manager

Training for Division 1 will be on ground 3 at 6pm from Thursday onwards and every Tuesday and Thursday after that.

The first competition game is this weekend against the chooks so plenty of motivation to get stuck in from week 1.

I hope all of you get in behind this new structure and enjoy the season ahead.

Welcome to New Zealand Will!
