Premiers & Colts Default

The Spotswood United camp has been ravaged with illness and injury this week, decimating more than half of our available playing numbers.

The only option is to unfortunately default both our Premier and Colts fixtures for this weekends fixtures against NPOB.

We wish to extend our sincere apologies to NPOB who experienced the same fate only a few weeks ago, and would have been hoping for some solid minutes on the field.

The Division One team has managed to scratch together enough numbers to be able to go ahead as planned with their match. They kick off at 1pm on the Dog Pound, Yarrows No. 3.

Last Weekends Report

Apologies for the lack of reports this weekend. The illness surrounding the squads has also infiltrated the Management.

Colts vs Tukapa

Match Report: Brendan Hammersley - Colts Manager

The Boys got off to a great start with the Captain Juki scoring in the first 4 minutes and soon after Daniel got one over the line, to make it 10-0.  Tukapa scored a couple of tries to even it up, then Carlos scored just before half time, with Cole converting to make the half time score 17-10 to Spotswood.

In the second half the boys started with the forwards doing some great pick and go with Bamber crashing over the line to score within 2 minutes making it 22-10.  Tukapa dominated the next 10-15 minutes of the game by scoring 2 converted tries to take the lead 22-24, before we got another try to make it 27-24.

With Spotswood down to 14 players due to a yellow card, Tukapa took advantage and scored 3 tries increasing the lead 27-41.  In the last seconds of the game, Juki got a try making to final score 32-41 to Tukapa.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we were looking for but was a good high scoring game to watch, with the team putting in a great effort, especially the front row playing the whole 80 minutes.

MVP’s this week Juki, Aki and Josh C
