The lads are a few weeks into conditioning trainings with team training starting last week. Numbers are a little short at this stage, so get the word out. Potential Scenarios Discussed for CMK Club Competition – The Taranaki Rugby Football Union is working collaboratively with all rugby clubs in the province to provide potential options for a reduced CMK competition in 2020. CMK club rugby was due to kick off on March 28 but with Alert Level 4 in effect, the country was forced into lockdown for four weeks to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
You may have seen the news released yesterday about the postponement of club rugby nationwide. We are working with Taranaki Rugby over the next few days after learning this and will keep you all up-to-date as we have any further information. Below is the statement from New Zealand Rugby.

The Club Taranaki Sevens was held at Yarrows Stadium a few weeks ago, with Spotswood United fielding a Premier, Social and Women’s teams. It was awesome for the club to have good numbers along to participate, and even better after the Premier side convincingly locked away their first piece of silverware for the season, going through unbeaten, to win the Delwar Shield against Southern 28 – 12.

We say farewell and a massive thanks to coach BRENT PERRETT (Perry) who stands down after six years with our Premier team. You will be very much missed Perry but we hope to still see you on the sidelines and in the club house afterwards next season.
Our pre-season development programme was a huge reason all our senior teams excelled in 2019.
So, to ensure we can do it all again in 2020, we have a new programme starting on November 28.
The programme, which has kindly been sponsored by The Glassman, will run on Thursday nights beginning at 6pm and will involve a range of fitness activities run by Premier Team Trainer, Josh Cooper.
Semi-Finals Baby! Sooo … did you hear the rumour that the Spotty Dawgs have ALL FOUR TEAMS at home this weekend having each earnt a HOME SEMI-FINAL after an outstanding season so far!! There is still plenty of work to do this weekend, the business end of the season, to push through to next weekends Final Day at Yarrow Stadium.
